Vanessa is a program designer and manager with expertise in the private sector, youth work and development. She advocates for policies and programs that address the unique needs and aspirations of women and young people in the Pacific region. Vanessa has held senior positions within the Australian High Commission in Solomon Islands, Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and NGO, Youth at Work. While on-Award, Vanessa consults part-time for Tetra Tech International Development and volunteers for Griffith Social Marketing. In her spare time, Vanessa writes thought-pieces focused on education, employment, and participation indecision-making.

On completion of her studies, Vanessa aims to contribute to evidence-based policies and programs that address women’s and young people’s unique needs in the Solomon Islands. She is also the founder and Managing Director of her family-owned beverage business, Elixir Bay, and has earned her pilot license.
