Teresa is an experienced Director, Board Member, volunteer and sustainable development advocate with experience working in health, justice, and non-governmental sectors in Fiji and Tuvalu. She was the youngest appointed Director of the Tuvalu Association of NGOs and later became Executive Director of the Tuvalu Family Health Association. Prior to this, Teresa was Crown Counsel for the Government of Tuvalu Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and then collaborated with UNICEF Fiji on a child protection project.

Before taking up her Australia Award, Teresa was Board Secretary for the Fuligafou Association, which promotes youth collaboration to mitigate the impacts of climate change. She is passionate about the promotion of women in sports and hopes to empower all Tuvaluans to use sustainable, practical and contextually relevant methods to combat climate change. She also hopes to strengthen the inclusion and collaboration between NGOs, island communities, and government agencies for sustainable development in Tuvalu. Teresa holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Fiji.
