Teitinrerei hopes to drivechange in Kiribati’s education sector by strengthening communication andcollaboration between the Ministry of Education, teachers, parents and thewider community. She was the youngest Deputy Principal working at three JuniorSecondary Schools in Kiribati’s capital, Tarawa, and has worked as an ActingAssistant Secretary to the Public Service Office, Ministry of Internal Affairsand Ministry of Education.
Through her work, Teitinrerei has seenfirst-hand the importance of, and barriers to, cohesive communication from thehighest members of government right down to students and their communities. Sheis committed to advancing her leadership, communication and networking skillsin order to represent and create transformational change in Kiribati education.
