For 15 years, Sereima has worked within Fiji’s Mineral Resources Department, joining as an entry-level staff member and working her way up to Chief Environment Officer of the Environment Division. In this role, she oversees the function of the division, provides professional and specialised advice to the Director and Senior Management team, including the Permanent Secretary and Minister, on any environmental issues for the mineral sector, and trains and leads her team. Upon completion of her on-Award studies, Sereima plans to return home to utilise her acquired knowledge and skills in any profession related to her field of study.
Passionate about the advocacy power of women in solutions to climate change, including waste reduction and management, Sereima hopes the leadership skills and knowledge gained from her participation in WLI will help her strengthen networks with other women leaders advocating for change.
