Ruth is a disability rights advocate with over 12 years’ experience in advocacy, consultation, case management, training, and office management. Currently, she is Disability Inclusion Advisor to leading global consulting and engineering service provider, Tetra Tech International Development.
In 2014,she became the first female wheelchair user from Papua New Guinea (PNG) to receive an Australian Awards Scholarship and is a recipient of the Australian High Commissioner’s Education Award under the Australian Development Scholarships Award. She was also appointed by PNG's Department of Community Development, Youth and Religion to represent young people in the region with disability at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Forum in Perth.
Passionate about amplifying voices of women with disability to drive social justice, equity, and inclusion, Ruth wants to see more critical assessment of complex and intersecting social and disability issues in order to develop policy and program solutions. She holds a Diploma of Community Service Work from Queensland TAFE.
