Rose Polume
Papua New Guinea

Master of Applied Linguistics and TESOL

Macquarie University, NSW

Rose has worked in the PNG education system for over20 years, primarily in teaching and management positions. Recently, as deputy principal of a teacher’s college, Rose trained students in order to relocate them to the remotest parts of PNG. She equipped them with the skills to be creative, resilient and vibrant primary school teachers for communities with little access to high-quality educational services.

After working with a local Sydney NGO that creates sanitary hampers, Rose has been inspired to startup an initiative that improves the sanitation choices available to women living in remote PNG. This includes developing reusable sanitary products and creating a sustainable delivery model.
