Nazia has a background in psychology and social work, having worked as a counsellor for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in Fiji. She has completed training in individual and group psychotherapy and is currently completing her final clinical placement with Illawarra Shoalhaven Mental Health District’s Drug and Alcohol Service.
On completion of her studies, Nazia hopes to implement evidence-based counselling services across Fiji. She aims to bring a stronger focus to psycho social factors, introducing psychological assessments across hospital and community mental health services and collaborating on local research projects. Nazia also plans to share knowledge gained during her studies with other staff through continual professional development sessions.
