Monica is passionate about building the capacity of the nursing workforce to reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases in Papua New Guinea. Originally from Madang Province, Monica has held clinical and training nursing roles in both rural and provincial healthcare settings, including at management level.
Upon her return home, Monica hopes to review healthcare workplace policies with the view to building the competency of nursing staff, and to empower nurses to work more collaboratively with patients and community to prevent lifestyle-related diseases.
