Koisau has 14years of experience working with government, non-government and community development organisations to empower youth and women to seek out solutions to social issues, including sexual and gender-based violence. Through her work as a coordinator of policy to end violence against women and girls for Solomon Islands’ Ministry for Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs, Koisau engaged key stakeholders, including families of women victim-survivors of gendered violence, to call for stronger sentencing for perpetrators of sexual violence.
Koisau is passionate about using her leadership skills and expertise to increase rural communities’ (especially women and girls’) access to economic, health and education opportunities that will impact their development. Through her Bachelor of Arts and Social Science, Koisau is majoring in Development, Economics, and Peace and Conflict Studies.
