Erita was a lower primary school teacher for 15 years, working at various East Sepik and Madang province schools, before becoming a lecturer in language teaching methods and later, in educational psychology. She has contributed to and presented various research papers on teacher retention, transitioning from secondary and tertiary education, and the experiences of female students.
Erita is passionate about advocating for the empowerment of girls and women through education and for national growth and development. She hopes to encourage women to lead solutions to development issues in their own contexts and communities. Having earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education, Erita received an award for excellence in curriculum studies from the University of Goroka.
