Emma recently became the first woman executive of the Solomon Islands Inland Revenue Division (IRD), when she assumed position as Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Operations. Her achievement builds on previous senior roles she has held at IRD and the Bank of the South Pacific.
Emma would like to advocate for the Solomon Islands public sector to adopt a more holistic approach to human resource management. She is committed to forging alliances with other professional women and believes that by more women attaining decision-making positions, national policies and government decisions will become fair to all citizens. Emma is committed to finding ways to ensure that women’s voices are heard and more women within the public service are empowered and are able to take on decision-making positions.
