For over two decades, Debbie has honed her skills as a healthcare professional, having worked as a hospital nurse, midwife, healthcare assistant and case manager for the Vanuatu Health Program. She has co-authored a study on COVID-19 surveillance in Vanuatu and established pneumonia and severe respiratory illness surveillance systems as part of the country’s COVID-19 monitoring. She has also been the recipient of an academic award for excellence in midwifery training and was secretary for the Vanuatu Nurses Association from 2013 to 2017.
Through her work as a trainer, Debbie hopes to build the capacity of healthcare professionals and build their confidence to lead the communities they care for. Her vision is to improve and strengthen healthcare services in Vanuatu through competent leadership and management. Debbie holds a Bachelor of Nursing Science among other qualifications and is an executive member of the Vanuatu Midwifery Society Committee.
