Master in Education (Wellbeing and Positive Mental Health)

Flinders University

Connie is a wellbeing and mental health advocate with 19 years of primary school teaching and coaching experience. In this time, she has worked with students from rural, remote and regional education settings. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, Connie has strived to uphold support titles focused on fostering community and wellbeing, including as a Community Awareness Coordinator, Girls’ Counsellor, Netball Coach and Umpire, and Child Protection Officer. She believes that by enriching students’ lives with activities designed to foster physical and mental health and wellbeing, their academic performance is also increased. In 2013, Connie was elected Tawake Girl Guide District Commissioner of the Girl Guides Association in Fiji. In this role, Connie learned the importance of transparency, collaboration, and the social skills needed to lead a team.

Passionate about passing on knowledge and resources promoting mental health and wellbeing, Connie intends to conduct awareness programs that can foster positive mental attitudes among students and community members. She has also earned her Bachelor of Education (Primary) from The University of the South Pacific.
