Alomeci is an award-winning registered nurse and midwife of over ten years. She has held roles in major hospitals in Fiji, including within the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva. As part of the hospital’s COVID-19 maternity unit response team, Alomeci honed her patient advocacy, collaboration and communication skills under pressure.
Alomeci hopes to strengthen her leadership skills to positively influence evidence-based midwifery care and clinical practice in Fiji, while bridging the gap between research, quality improvement and practice, to reduce maternal and neo-natal mortality rates in the region. She has previously earned a Bachelor of Nursing from the Sangam Institute of Technology College of Nursing and Health Care Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Midwifery from the Fiji National University through award of an Australia Awards Pacific Scholarship.
