WLI Women’s Developmental Leadership Program alumni Amelia Faotusia (Tonga) and Lydia Nenai Bobola (Papua New Guinea) have been selected to participate in the inaugural Pacific Women Climate Leaders Fellowship Program through The Asia Foundation.
Over 10 days in March and April 2024, Amelia and Lydia will travel to the United States to participate in the Bioneers Conference in Berkeley, climate diplomacy training in New York City and a study tour with innovative women and climate leadership organisations.
They will also attend meetings with climate-focused donors and partners in both cities and access seed grants to translate their ideas into action through funding from TAF’s Lotus Circle.
According to TAF, the fellowship program aims to enhance and elevate the leadership of women in climate action in the Pacific region. It is designed to recognise, support, and amplify their voices, acknowledging women and other vulnerable groups at the forefront of devastating climate impacts and solutions in their communities.
