Women Leading and Influencing (WLI) and PNG Australia Alumni Association (PNGAAA) hosted the Hon. Julie Bishop and PNG Member of Parliament and WLI Steering Committee member The Hon. Kessy Sawang at a Women’s Leadership Luncheon in Port Moresby.
The Hon. Bishop, who officially launched WLI at Australian Parliament House in 2018, was reunited with some alumnae from WLI's first Women's Developmental Leadership Program cohort - then known as the Leadership and Mentoring Program.
During the luncheon, WLI alumnae including Dr. Pamela Toliman, Anna Apop, Scholar Pope and Matilda Hamago shared their leadership stories and spoke of the program’s impact in helping to build their skills, networks and confidence to lead positive change in their workplaces, communities and country.
Hon. Bishop applauded alumni on their efforts to break down the barriers to women’s leadership in all areas of society.
“It has been a privilege to listen to the amazing stories shared by our PNG women alumni today, and to witness their focus and determination to pass on what they have learned to other women," she added.
Like all WLI events, registrations to WLI Learning & Networking events are accessed via the Leaders Hub.
