Fijian alumni of WLI’s developmental leadership programs recently came together in Suva to network with each other and prepare for future salary negotiations in ways that reflect and value their Australia Awards experiences and qualifications.

Hosted in April 2024 by Fijian WLI Alumni Representatives at the Pacific Women Lead and Enabling Services Office in Flagstaff Suva, the networking event featured a talanoa facilitated by Human Resources Specialist and Australia Awards alumna, Lusiana Nuqanuqa.

The talanoa was designed to help LeadershipConnect and Women’s Developmental Leadership Program alumni identify the “right” employer and work environment for them, and how to articulate the value of their Australia Awards qualifications when negotiating salary packages.

The event was coordinated by Fijian WLI Alumni Representative Jiupili Simmons who identifies and responds to the reintegration support needs of WLI alumni returning home to Fiji with newfound skills, knowledge and connections.
