Women leading and influencing

Pacific Networking Breakfast Brisbane

Monday, 11 November 2019

The Women’s Leadership Initiative hosted its ninth event on Thursday 7 November 2019 at Parliament House, Queensland to coincide with UNDP’s Pacific Women in Power forum. Over 80 guests attended the networking breakfast led by WLI Steering Committee co-chair and Samoan MP, Hon Ali’imalemanu Alofa Tuuau. Also in attendance were Pacific women MPs, other Pacific leaders, ANU Department of Pacific Affairs (DPA) staff, WLI mentors and our wonderful Australia Awards Scholars.

Hon Al’iimalemanu Alofa Tuuau shared the inspiring story of her journey into politics, as well as her experience as a leader and the challenges she has had to overcome as a woman in leadership in the Pacific.

The event was a great opportunity for WLI participants to meet key leaders of the Pacific and foster greater connections with the Australian and Pacific community.
