Victoria Hnanguie

Master of Environmental Management, The University of Queensland

Victoria is an environmentalist with more than 5 years’ experience working to improve and strengthen Kiribati’s environment safeguard system to ensure limited natural resources are utilised sustainably. She has held roles at Kiribati’s Ministry of Environment Lands and Agricultural Development and was recently promoted to Program Manager of the Environmental and Conservation Division’s Licensing and Compliance Section.

In response to her excellent performance at work, Victoria received an In-Service Award from the Kiribati Government through which she can pursue her studies. Raised by a single mother to appreciate and conserve the environment and its natural beauty, Victoria is determined to work with women and communities to reduce littering and encourage Kiribati households and communities to become environmental advocates.
