Tracey and Kristy

Tracey is passionate about addressing social development issues, such as gender-based violence in Tonga. She worked as a Program Manager for the Australian High Commission in Tonga, where she managed Gender, Governance, and Economic programs and looks forward to continuing her work on gender programs in a leadership capacity when she returns home.

Tracey hopes to use skills learned on-Award and through the Women’s Leadership Initiative to support people from her community and to ensure they are informed of available services. She also plans to revive inactive community groups and strengthen relationships between local and other levels of government in order to support community wellbeing and development.

Kristy is the Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion Coordinator for the Pacific Labour Facility with Palladium; an Australian Government initiative that supports rural and regional Australian employers to recruit people from Timor-Leste and nine Pacific Island countries for low- and semi-skilled work.

She joined the Facility following almost five years of living and working in the Solomon Islands as the Project Manager for the UN Women Markets for Change project, which aims to make rural and urban Melanesian marketplaces safe, inclusive and non-discriminatory, promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Kristy also has experience working in Fiji and Vanuatu, where she has focused on women’s rights and empowerment projects.
