Teitinrerei hopes to drive change in Kiribati’s education sector by strengthening communication and collaboration between the Ministry of Education, teachers, parents and the wider community. She was the youngest Deputy Principal working at three Junior Secondary Schools in Kiribati’s capital, Tarawa, and has worked as an Acting Assistant Secretary to the Public Service Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Education.
Through her work, Teitinrerei has seen first-hand the importance of, and barriers to, cohesive communication from the highest members of government right down to students and their communities. She is committed to advancing her leadership, communication and networking skills in order to represent and create transformational change in Kiribati education.
Dorothy Jenner
Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, QLD
Dorothy is highly experienced in planning, monitoring, and evaluation within Australian and Pacific Islands (including Solomon Islands) contexts. This includes working as part of a team delivering initiatives funded by Australian and New Zealand governments; in education, health, policing and transport sectors, targeting information management systems, strategic planning, and accountability.
Dorothy has also enjoyed an extensive educational career as a teacher, guidance officer, advisor, and consultant, including through her last role as Principal Project Officer, Evaluations for the Department of Education in Brisbane. Previously, Dorothy was responsible for consultation, formulation, and publication of the Policia Nacional de Timor-Leste (PNTL) Strategic Plan 2014-18 and PNTL Business Plan 2014, among other high-impact projects.
