Rhoda works for the Papua New Guinea Department of Treasury in the Economic Policy Division, focusing specifically on fiscal and revenue policy. She has an interest in tax compliance and believes that upholding the rule of law is paramount to maintain a strong and vibrant organisation that supports development.
On completion of her studies, Rhoda will continue to work with various agencies to strengthen policy, legislative and administrative aspects of revenue for a sound financial system, ensuring a fair and robust tax system to support economic growth and development. She believes in a collective approach to addressing issues of tax compliance and looks forward to forging networks that will assist her with her endeavours in Papua New Guinea.
Michelle Owens

Michelle is a leader in State tax administration in Western Australia, having worked for the Department of Finance for over 16 years. She has successfully led high performing teams in the assessment and collection of duties and driven strategic and business planning processes to enhance service delivery for stakeholders.
In 2017, Michelle was the principal policy adviser to the Hon. Ben Wyatt MLA, Minister for Finance. Michelle currently oversees the strategic development of policy options about the effectiveness of the State tax legislation and leads the design and development of changes to the laws.
Michelle is a Fellow of Leadership Western Australia and a Director on the board of Gowrie (WA) Inc.
