In her role as program Support Manager for Care International in Papua New Guinea, Jeanne managed the operations team in Bougainville field office. She recognised the importance of having efficient systems and processes in place to ensure accountability to donors of the projects.
On completion of her studies, Jeanne intends to utilise her skills and qualifications to contribute to the development of Bougainville. She is aware that human resources are integral to development and is keen to work with young women to overcome barriers that hinder their education.
Dr Jennifer Gabriel
Anthropologist and Research Fellow, The Cairns Institute

Jennifer is an anthropologist with extensive teaching and research experience in the resource development sector. Her current fieldwork is in Papua New Guinea, focusing on world heritage, protected area planning and sustainable livelihoods. This includes a strong focus on cultural values and community engagement.
Jennifer has expertise and experience in maintaining strong partnerships and networks, including effectively engaging with community partners, key government agencies, and industries to support information exchange and progress the collaborative design of community capacity building initiatives.
