Angela has worked at the Western Highlands Provincial Hospital for the past decade. She has experience in a range of nursing areas including midwifery practice, sexual and reproductive health, school health and mobile outreach clinics. Angela’s passion is empowering communities, especially women, to be economically independent and equipped to cater for their families’ health needs.
On completion of her studies, Angela plans to implement community education programs on sexual and reproductive health issues affecting women. She hopes this will enable women to seek maternal health care early and consequently lower maternal deaths and pregnancy related complications.
Christine McCracken
Clinical Nurse, Women's and Children's Health Network,
South Australia Health Child and Family Health Service, SA
Christine is a Registered General and Obstetric Nurse and Registered Midwife. She has worked across a diverse range of health services in clinical, managerial and educational positions in New Zealand, Australia and Papua New Guinea. She is passionate about how women and children receive health services and the quality of the care provided, regardless of their environment.
In her current role, Christine provides person centred clinical nursing care, delivered in a primary health care environment in partnership with families. She has worked extensively in the public health sector and on a number of DFAT funded programs. She was a Technical Advisor for the Australian Aid supported East New Britain Sexual Health Improvement Project in Kokopo, Papua New Guinea and developed a Midwifery Fellowship Program for selected graduate midwives.
